Scrotum, testes and penis
The testes (testicles) are located in the scrotum, and are responsible for producing sperm, and testosterone, the male sex hormone. They are egg shaped, and have a firm, spongy feel. At the top of each testicle lies the epididymis, which transports sperm from the testicle to the vas deferens (also called spermatic cord), a long tube which takes the sperm into the urethra.
The testicles are approximately the same size and shape, and should have the same smooth consistency throughout.
